SENTIENT TIMES February/March 2004 Understanding
Your Life Through Color By
Nancy Ann Tappe The daughter of a West Virginia coal miner and the seventh of thirteen children, Nancy Ann Tappe was raised by Scottish grandparents who nurtured and accepted her many psychic skills. These gifts come to her as a result of being born with synesthesia, a condition in which she perceives color through all five of her senses and in which two of her senses are completely blended. She describes this as seeing colors and tasting shapes. Nancy worked with a Jungian psychiatrist for nine years to formulate her unusual perceptions into a meaningful system of color and interpretations. It is this system that is described in Understanding Your Life Through Color. Focusing on the multiple facets of the human personality and the belief that color influences every aspect of life, Nancy explains that knowing and utilizing color can enable each of us to enhance and improve the quality of our lives and our relationships, within an awareness of self, of purpose, and of the world. Looking at ones life through the context of colors offers a unique perspective on the self, perhaps because the drawing back from our usual self-interpretation offers a new lens in which to know the self while at the same time expanding our understanding of one another. Understanding Your Life Through Color embodies the wisdom gleaned from meeting thousands and thousands of people worldwide over the last 30 years. Always the learner as well as the teacher, while helping others understand their life within the context of her unique and colorful system Nancy was assisted in honing and deepening her own effectiveness. Because it is written in an easy to read and understand format it is possible for anyone to come away from this book knowing more about themselves, their life color, and how to function with greater happiness in life. According to Nancys text, The life color is the single color of the aura that remains constant in most people from the cradle to the grave. There are a few people who change their color but this is rare. The life color establishes a focus for the entire lifetime, similar to having a major in college. Every life color carries with it assets as well as liabilities. In addition the mental and physical colors seldom change. The combination of these three colors together create a baseline person for this lifetime. Usually each universal age is accompanied by a preponderance of people with that life color. For instance now most adults are either Blue or Violet, the two colors with the attributes most needed in this the Violet Age of transition. During the next age, the Indigo Age, Indigo colors will be the norm. Twenty-five
years ago Nancy was the first person to identify the Indigo Life Color
in evolution. She explains The Indigo phenomenon has been recognized
as one of the most exciting changes in human nature ever documented in
society. The Indigo label describes the energy pattern of human behavior
which exists in over 95% of the children born in the last 10 years
This phenomena is happening globally and eventually the Indigos will replace
all other colors. As small children, Indigos are easy to recognize
by their unusually large, clear eyes. Extremely bright, precocious children
with an amazing memory and a strong desire to live instinctively, these
children of the next millennium are sensitive, gifted souls with an evolved
consciousness who have come here to help change the vibrations of our
lives and create one land, one globe and one species. They are our bridge
to the future. They have a wise understanding about humanity and are uncanny
and accurate judges of character. That said, however, they exhibit behavior
changes, rebel against rules without explanation, and become bored or
restless easily
They dislike rules for the sake of rules. Indigos
are here to enjoy today and show us tomorrow. They are the bridge to the
future
As one observes the Indigo lust for life and joy in living
it is impossible to believe that there is impending doom for humankind.
These bright eyed children and young adults seem to be the forerunners
to a wonderful time and place in the future. Ellae Elinwood is an Ashland, Oregon resident and the author of five books including Stay Young With Tai Chi & Qigong Basics (Tuttle Publishers, 2004).
